Celebrating Colebrook Road

We were delighted to join our partners, Kenward Trust, at one our support housing schemes on Colebrook Road last week to celebrate its recent refurbishment and how it’s supported vulnerable people recovering from addiction.
Residents living at our scheme in Tunbridge Wells are supported by Kenward Trust – who we’ve been in partnership with since 2023. Our collaboration enables us to provide sanctuary for those recovering from addiction who face difficulties returning to community life. Kenward Trust provide residents with a safe home environment and a dedicated key worker to support them on their road to recovery – as well as providing them with the skills they need to live a life away from addiction. Residents are also encouraged to volunteer and decide their own path back to community life, limiting the risk of relapse.
The refurbishment has provided all 14 residents with freshly renovated rooms and communal spaces, including a lounge, garden, and kitchen, creating a warm, welcoming space where they can rebuild their lives.
Alice, a resident who’s been living at the scheme for four months, said:
“I owe Kenward Trust my life. I’ve got so much gratitude and feel so blessed to be here; we’re just one big family. It’s just been an incredible journey. Coming in here, I've actually got to see how the building has changed - there was definitely work to be done and the improvements have made me feel more safe, more comfortable and hopefully this will continue for the people that come after me as well.”
Along with residents like Alice and members of Moat and Kenward Trust, the event was attended by developers Taylor Wimpey, sub-contractors Simcott, and members of construction industry charity CRASH which provided support during the renovation. In addition to Colebrook Road, we have similar schemes with Kenward Trust on London Road in Southborough and Pelican Court in Wateringbury.
Rajinder Manger, Head of Supported and Retirement Living at Moat, says:
“Our scheme on Colebrook Road provides vulnerable people with the space and time to recover in a safe and supported environment, and we’re delighted to be working with Kenward Trust on such an impactful partnership. This is our third scheme with Kenward Trust, and our partnership is going from strength to strength.”
Penny Williams, Chief Executive Officer at Kenward Trust, explains:
“Having a safe and comfortable place to call home is absolutely essential for those recovering from addiction. The refurbishment will have a real and lasting impact, providing dignity, security, and a sense of stability that makes all the difference in their tough journey.”
