Information about your home and services (STAIRS)

Helping you find, access and understand information about your homes and services.

From 1 October 2026, a new regulatory standard comes into effect.

Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements - better known as STAIRS - give you easier access to information about how your home and our services are managed.

Providing this information isn’t just about sharing documents. It’s about being open and honest with you, helping you understand decisions we’ve made, see how we’re performing, and hold us to account.

What is STAIRS?

STAIRS is a new standard introduced by the government.

It asks social landlords, like us, to do two things:

  • From 1 October 2026, we’re required to publish more information about how decisions are made, how we spend our income, how we're performing, and how we manage your home.
  • From 1 April 2027, you gain the right to submit requests to us, asking for information about how we manage your home and services.

Together, these changes aim to give you more transparency, better access to information, and greater confidence in decisions which affect your home and community.

Read more about STAIRS on the government website.

The information you’ll find on our website

We share a wide range of information through our website, myMoat, and our regular customer newsletter. To make information easier to find, we’ve created a central directory where you can find all of this information in one place.

Our approach to STAIRS

Our STAIRS policy sets out how we’ll make housing management information available to you and how we'll support you to access it. It’s the commitment we’re making to be open and transparent, and meet the new requirements consistently.

  • Can’t find what you’re looking for?

If you've looked through the links on this page and can't find what you're after, the search bar at the top of this page may help.

If you can't find the information on our site and you think we should publish it, you can contact us to request it.

We'll review your request and aim to respond within 30 days. There may be occasions where we need more time to respond or we can’t fulfil your request. If that's the case, we’ll let you know in writing and explain the reasons why.

  • If you're not happy with our decision

If you’re not happy with our decision or how we’ve handled your request, you can contact the Housing Ombudsman - they’ll investigate your case and decide whether we’ve acted appropriately. The Ombudsman offers this service to customers who rent or part own their homes.
