Existing Homes Forum

Empty Homes Forum 2

Existing Homes Forum

Giving our customers more opportunities to influence and improve the services and homes we provide.

What is the Existing Homes Forum?

The Existing Homes Forum brings together customers and Moat colleagues to discuss services that affect customers' homes, share experiences, and help shape future improvements.

Through open discussion and collaborative working, customers can influence decisions, priorities, policies, and service standards. Forum meetings take place every three months and bring together customers, Moat colleagues, and our main repairs partner, Mears.

The Existing Homes Forum replaces our previous Repairs Forum and has a broader focus, giving customers the opportunity to provide feedback on a wider range of property-related services.

What does the Forum cover?

The Existing Homes Forum discusses a wide range of topics, including:

  • Repairs and maintenance
  • Contractor performance
  • Asset management
  • Compliance and safety
  • Property standards
  • Damp and mould
  • Home safety

This broader focus means you can share your views on more of the services that affect your home, helping us improve the way we deliver property services across Moat.

Next meeting date

You’re invited to join our next Existing Homes Forum on Thursday 17 September, 10am –12pm, at our head office in Dartford. Have your say on topics like repairs, home safety, damp and mould, contractors and the quality of your homes. You'll be able to share your experiences, influence decisions and help improve services for everyone.

Interested? Email us to let us know you’d like to attend.

Customer-led working groups

  • Customers can take part in short-term working groups focused on specific topics.

We recently held a workshop with customers to review our repairs satisfaction survey, helping us improve how we gather feedback after a repair.

  • Future topics may include:

    • Damp and mould.
    • Vulnerability and reasonable adjustments.
    • Existing Homes Standard.
    • Policy reviews.

These groups are flexible and focused, giving customers the chance to share their views and help shape improvements to our services.

I enjoy being part of the Forum - I like to get involved in helping to make things better for myself and Moat. Knowing more about how Moat works. Support is needed not only by customers but also Moat, so both parties are on the same wavelength.

Terence, Moat Customer and Forum member

The Existing Homes Forum provides a fantastic space to share best practices and tackle housing challenges together.

Membership has given me the knowledge and confidence to effectively support and advocate for our Bishops Close community.
