Why letting us into your home matters

We want your home and shared spaces to be safe, comfortable and well looked after

Back to all News

We want your home and shared spaces to be safe, comfortable and well looked after. To do that, we sometimes need to visit for things like:

These visits help us meet legal responsibilities as your landlord – and most importantly, they help keep you and your household safe.

We get it – life is busy

We understand letting someone into your home isn’t always easy or convenient. That’s why we’re doing more to make it work around you – especially for those essential safety checks

What’s new?

We’re making it easier and more flexible than ever.

  • More appointment options:
Evening and weekend slots are available in some cases, so you don’t have to take time off work.
  • Remote surveys:
For certain visits, a quick video walk through can help sort thins out faster without needing to come in
  • Fewer disruptions:
Where possible we’ll combine services (like gas safety checks and home improvements survey) into one single visit
  • Better ways to stay in touch:
We’re improving how we communicate, so you’re always in the loop:
    • You may hear from us by text or phone call – not just letters.
    • We’re using plain language and easy to understand leaflets
    • In some cases, your Neighbourhood Services Manager can help arrange access directly if that feels more comfortable for you.

A little thank you

When you help us access your home for these important safety checks, we’ll enter you into a £100 prize draw as a thank you. Just our way of showing our appreciation.

Why access matters

If we can't get into your home, we can’t fix things – and that can:

  • Delay urgent repairs or safety checks
  • Put your household at risk
  • Affect your ability to make certain claims or complaints

Let’s work together

We’ll always give you notice before a visit and try to around your schedule. Need a different time? Extra support? Help preparing your home? Just let us know.

We’re here to make the process easy, respectful and right for you - because keeping your home safe is something we do with you, not to you.
