New affordable and sustainable homes coming to Rainham!
We're pleased to announce 75 brand new affordable homes coming to Rainham, Kent – right opposite our Bakersfield and Kershaw communities.
The 2, 3, and 4-bedroom houses will be a mix of 43 homes for social rent and 32 homes for shared ownership. These will be the first homes built to our enhanced requirements and specifications, delivering homes that are not only highly sustainable but include features that our customers have said will make a difference to their comfort and wellbeing, such as outside space.
In terms of sustainability, every home will feature:
- Air source heat pumps for a 100% sustainable heating solution
- Solar panels to generate your own electricity
- Electric vehicle charging points for sustainable transport
- Triple glazing for warmth and quiet.
Partnership working
We've partnered with Medway Council to ensure these homes meet their housing need, and their financial contribution will ensure the homes for social rent are genuinely as affordable as they can be while meeting high quality and sustainability standards.
Construction begins this summer, with:
- First homes ready: Summer 2026
- Project completion: Spring 2027
