Moat Foundation receives a £10,000 donation from WinCo to support young people with education and training

In April, our community investment arm, Moat Foundation, was delighted to accept a generous donation from The Window Company (Contracts) Limited of £10,000!

The Window Company (WinCo) has been a valuable partner of ours for over 15 years, and this generous contribution will go towards creating education and employment opportunities for young people across our Community Hubs in Stanhope, Sittingbourne, and Gravesend.

The donation was presented to Moat Foundation at our Love Where You Live event in Stanhope, Ashford – a fantastic community day that brought sunshine, smiles, and a true sense of community spirit as residents, Moat staff, and local partners shared the day together.

The cheque was presented by Josh - a Stanhope resident who has been coming to our Community Hub since he was young. Josh went through eight tough months of job hunting before reaching out to our Moat Foundation team for help. Through our partnership with WinCo, Josh landed a job as a Site Operative and has since been promoted to an Improver Fitter. Josh said: “Turning to Moat is one of the best things to have ever happened to me.” 

James Musgrave, Moat Foundation Team Leader, explained: “We want to see more young people in our communities, like Josh, make a successful transition into work, so we will be allocating the £10K into a dedicated programme which will fund specialist mentoring and skills sessions.”

Moat Foundation works closely with partners so we can respond to customers in need of a little extra support. Our partnership with The Window Company is a great example of how impactful social value can be, and how we're always looking to improve customers’ lives by working better together.
