We’re dedicated to supporting our customers and doing everything we can to make a positive impact on their lives. Delroy’s journey is a moving reminder of how we can help you take your first steps into a healthier, happier future.

Delroy, one of our Pollards Hill residents, told us he’s faced significant personal challenges including living with agoraphobia – a condition that left him feeling isolated and unable to engage with the outside world.

But thanks to the support from Michelle and Saera from our Moat Foundation team, Hayley our local Health Worker, Bev our Ready Steady Cook programme lead and the welcoming environment of our Wellbeing Studio in Pollards Hill, Delroy has taken brave and life-changing steps forward.

Through attending Ready, Steady, Cook classes hosted by Moat Foundation, Delroy began reconnecting with others and rebuilding his confidence. What seems like a small step was for Delroy, a huge leap towards regaining his independence, trust, and sense of belonging.

“The Studio has given me trust,” Delroy shared “The people here are now my friends. To mingle with the community again, to socialise – that’s what I’d lost out on.”

Delroy continued: “It’s helping me a great deal – I’m engaging with the community, cooking more, living healthier. I enjoy it very much.”
