We’ve achieved Gold Accreditation for our domestic abuse support

We’ve been awarded Gold Accreditation by the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA), recognising the work we do to support customers and colleagues experiencing domestic abuse.

We’re incredibly proud of this recognition - it gives us the assurance that we're supporting customers in the right way and to the highest standards, and we’re determined to maintain these standards in the long term.

What accreditation means for our customers and colleagues

DAHA sets strict standards for how housing associations can prevent, identify, and respond to domestic abuse in a safe, compassionate and survivor-led way. To gain accreditation, there’s a robust set of eight standards that must be met.

After several domestic abuse focus sessions, evidence gathering, in-depth case reviews, and going above and beyond to support vulnerable customers and colleagues, DAHA assessors found that our support and practices are “exemplary and have exceeded expectations”.

Our accreditation was awarded in June 2026, making us one of the first housing associations to achieve this under DAHA’s new framework.

Hannah Malpass, DAHA Assessor, said: Moat has shown exemplary practice and have exceeded expectation of the accreditation in some areas, particularly safety-led case management and partnerships and collaboration. It was clear to see how much hard work has gone into embedding and maintaining the standards across the organisation.”

We know how important it is for customers to feel safe in their homes. We’ll continue to lead by example, doing everything we can to keep our most vulnerable customers safe, heard and supported.
