Our social value arm, Moat Foundation, launched in January 2017, with the objective of helping develop people and communities.
We know that a community cannot thrive without its people being in a positive place and our work through Moat Foundation has particular focus on those who face challenges due to age, ill health, disability or financial hardship. All of Moat Foundation’s activities are delivered through programmes and projects designed to enhance society and build more cohesive communities.
We deliver various activities through our five Community Hubs in Essex, Gravesham, Gillingham, Sittingbourne and Stanhope. By working together with partners, such as West Kent Communities and Uprising, we deliver Hub based community activities. With the help of our partners, we’ve been able to deliver a range of support, including:

We’re always on the look out for volunteers and creating opportunities. We hold quarterly recruitment drives for Hub Volunteers who help us run all of the activities. We’ll make sure that you have the right training and support in place before you start, making this a great opportunity to gain new skills.

Moat Foundation can also offer support and advice to residents who are interested in setting up a group to address local community issues in their neighbourhood. Our Foundation Officers are happy to meet with residents to help them with setting up a group and possible seed funding towards the set-up costs.
