We’re pleased to announce that we have exchanged contracts and completed on the land purchase of a site at Ratling Road in Aylesham. The site is located on the edge of the Garden Village extension and has superb views across the Kent countryside.
We are proposing to deliver 39 sustainable homes - 24 for affordable rent and the remaining 15 will be for shared ownership. There is a high need for these homes in the area, and it is hoped that we will receive approval for our plans from Dover District Council before the end of the year.
The scheme will be delivered for us by our contractor partner Jenner and will consist of 22 x 2 bed houses, 15 x 3 bed houses and 2 x 4 bed houses.
Following one of our key priorities to reduce our environmental impact and build sustainably, these homes will be delivered using Fabric First principles meaning that the performance of the building materials are maximised to ensure the homes are as energy efficient as possible and reduce carbon emissions. The houses will be heated using air source heat pumps and all homes will have allocated parking spaces with an electric vehicle charging point.
A start on site is anticipated in April 2024 with all homes being completed by late 2025. When finished these new homes have the potential to house 151 people in an area where we already manage a significant number of homes.
