We’ve exchanged contracts on the purchase of 18 new affordable homes on the High Street development in Newington, near Sittingbourne, with the developers, A B Canham & Son, on their wider mixed development of 46 homes.
We’re planning to deliver 11 new homes for social rent and 7 for shared ownership for up to 66 new customers. Our homes will consist of one and two bedroom flats and maisonettes, and two and three bedroom houses for social rent, as well as two, three and four bedroom houses for shared ownership. The remaining homes on the site will be available for private sale with the developers.
As one of our Growth in New Homes and Communities priorities is to ‘build better quality homes that are affordable, sustainable and safe’, these homes will be delivered using Fabric First principles – meaning that the homes will be as energy efficient as possible and will reduce carbon emissions. All the homes will be heated using air source heat pumps and have an electric vehicle charging point meaning they will be some of our most sustainable homes.
A start on site is anticipate in August 2024 and we look forward to welcoming our new customers in winter 2025/2026 to an area where we already manage a significant number of homes.
