In April 1966, our journey started with a single block of flats in Chertsey. We understood then that a safe, secure, low-cost home can change the outcome of our customers’ lives. Sixty years on, our purpose still drives and inspires us as we provide homes for over 23,000 people and families.
We’ve lots planned to mark this special anniversary, and we want you to be at the heart of it all.
As we look back over the years, we’re also looking ahead at how we can continue to support you, now and in the years to come. That’s why we’ll be providing 60 employment, support and engagement opportunities for our customers over the next year. We’ll be working with our suppliers to offer employment support, with our colleagues to do litter picks on your estates, and with Moat Foundation to run activities from our anniversary gazebo which is popping up across your communities.
Keep an eye out for details of what we have planned – we’ll share more on our website, on our social media channels, and in our customer newsletters.
Many of you have shared your stories with us over the years. You’ve told us how your home has provided a safe space for your families, helped you build a future and, in some cases, changed the course of your life.
We’re capturing these memories throughout our celebrations, as we bring our history and purpose to life. We’re getting started with Nik and Amanda’s story as they share how a Moat home helped them build secure foundations for their growing family, 28 years ago.
Want to share your story with us? We’d love to know what your home means to you, and the impact it’s had on your life. Email us at [email protected] to share your story, using ‘What my home means to me’ in the subject line.
