An update on our long-term repairs partner

Long-term repairs partner selection process

We want to keep you informed about progress in selecting our long-term repairs partner. After an initial review, we shortlisted two organisations to move forward to the next stage of the formal bidding process. Since then, one of the organisations has chosen to withdraw, which means that Mears is now the remaining bidder for our repairs contract.

Can you carry on the procurement process with one organisation?

Yes, we can and will. It’s important that we continue and fully complete the procurement process. This ensures that the long-term contract reflects what you, our customers, have told us you want from a repairs service. To ensure the contract meets both your expectations and ours, it’s essential to complete the tender process, as the responses will form part of the final contractual agreement.

Will you continue to involve customers?

Yes! You will continue to play a key role in helping us choose the right contractor. By continuing the process, you can ask questions, provide feedback, and challenge proposals to make sure the service meets your needs.

"It’s really important that Moat sees the full procurement process through. This allows them to be absolutely sure that Mears can meet the high standards, expectations, and value for money and scrutiny we’re all looking for." - Lorraine Ash, Moat resident and Chair of Repairs Forum

What happens next?

We’ll continuing with the procurement process we’ve already set out, making sure you’re actively involved. Initial proposals are being submitted in phases over the coming weeks and will be carefully reviewed with customer representatives. Their feedback will be shared directly with Mears, helping to shape and strengthen the final proposals.

We remain committed to finding the best partner to deliver a high-quality, reliable repairs service, and we’ll keep you updated as the process progresses.
