Moat Foundation helped our customers celebrate the Platinum Jubilee in style

Last week our Moat Foundation team hosted a range of events across Kent and Essex to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. Throughout the week, residents of all ages celebrated and got together for activities, fun and festivities.

Steeple

The Steeple Jubilee party took place on Tuesday to get everyone in the Jubilee spirit ahead of the long weekend. Over 50 residents dressed in patriotic red, white, and blue, and came together to celebrate with a singer and an afternoon tea style lunch. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and it was a great way to kick of the Jubilee weekend celebrations.

Knightswood Court

On Wednesday, residents at our retirement living scheme in Southminster rang in the Jubilee weekend with an event at their residency.

Moat Foundation partnered with Morgan Sindall Property Services to host a day of events in the Knightswood Court communal lounge and garden. Residents enjoyed a line dancing group performance, singers, bingo, a quiz and plenty of food and refreshments.

Over 30 people of all ages came together to socialise and celebrate. The line dancing group went down a storm, with guests joining in and sporting their new cowboy hats, while others enjoyed exercising their competitive streak and getting stuck into the games.

Stanhope

On Bank Holiday Friday, residents of Stanhope celebrated the Platinum Jubilee in style with a street party to remember.

Moat Foundation worked with regional partners, Strengthening Minds, DWP Universal Credit team, East Kent College, and the Ashford Employment Support Partnership to host an afternoon of celebrations. There was an amazing turnout, with over 350 customers and local residents in attendance which really helped create a wonderful community-focused atmosphere.

The day was jam-packed with family-friendly, fun activities from an inflatable assault course, bouncy castle, and fun fair style stalls, to face painting and glitter tattoos, there really was something for everyone. Customers enjoyed a BBQ, ice cream courtesy of Mr Whippy the Ice Cream Man, raffle prizes, and a 5-a-side football tournament with local Sunday league team Stanhope and Beavers FC.

Our Stanhope Community Hub was also open to the residents throughout the day, where Senior Hub Officer, the ‘Brilliant Beverly’, hosted creative activities, and helped spread the word about the upcoming hub activities that are available to customers.
