Friday 8 May marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day and there are some fantastic resources available for celebrations from home.
The anniversary of Victory in Europe Day was set to be a significant occasion, with the May bank holiday moved and large-scale events planned in commemoration.
Although these events won’t be going ahead, there are other ways to celebrate the day. We’re working with the Royal British Legion, National Memorial Arboretum and Citizen to help people mark the anniversary from their homes by reading about VE Day and taking part in activities.
Dedicated activity packs are available for both children and adults and include puzzles, recipes, extracts from Churchill speeches, lyrics to war songs and much more.
We hope that the packs help individuals and families engage with and celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, ensuring that the importance of the day isn’t lost during the lockdown.
Download the packs from the National Memorial Arboretum website here.
