We're proud to announce that we have chosen Kent charity ellenor as our first ever Charity of the Year, following a business-wide vote by staff.
Gravesend based ellenor will now receive our dedicated backing over the next year, taking the form of fundraising activities, events and volunteering.
The ellenor Foundation was started in 1985 and cares for people of all ages, in their place of choice, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The charity offers a broad range of services to local people, including day therapy, an inpatient ward, wellbeing services, support for carers, with 90% of specialist care and support being provided to patients in the comfort of their own home. The majority of their income is from voluntary donations, individuals, groups and schools; it costs over £6.9m each year just to maintain the current service, but there are many more families in desperate need of help.
Olly Pechey, ellenor’s Corporate and Major Donor Manager, said of the announcement: “We rely heavily on the support from local businesses and the general public to help raise the funds needed each year to provide vital care for our patients and their families. We could not do this without the support of our corporate partners and we would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Moat for choosing to support ellenor as their Charity of the Year!”
Amber Finnegan, Moat’s Head of Customer Operations, who nominated ellenor said: “ellenor were amazing when my family needed them, so I can attest first-hand to the difference they make to our communities. As they rely heavily on donations, Moat can make a real impact over the next year and help to ensure more families receive outstanding care and support.”
