Sheltered and Supported Housing
Moat’s Sheltered and Supported Housing Teams provide support and accommodation for approximately 1,800 people across the South East. We work mainly in Kent and Essex although we do have some schemes in South London and East Sussex.
We have a specialist support team, as well as a housing management team, which both provide a person-centred service to all residents.
Quality and Continuous improvement
We are committed to providing an outstanding service in everything we do. We have achieved 'A' grades in our Supporting People reviews and we are accredited by the Centre for Housing Support for our services to older people.
We are constantly seeking to improve our services and 5% of service users are interviewed quarterly to get direct feedback on the services we provide.
Client groups
We currently have services for homeless people, women and children fleeing domestic violence, people with mental health problems, people with learning disabilities, people with physical disabilities, older people and older people with support needs.
Partnership working
We are committed to working other organisations to meet housing need. We have partnership agreements with four organisations who run and manage 12 care homes and one nursing home on Moat's behalf.
Equality and diversity
We are committed to ensuring all of our services are open to the whole community. We regularly monitor our residents to ensure we are reaching all groups within the community we are working in.
Staff development
We run our own internal training programme over a two year cycle to ensure that all staff are able to perform to the highest level.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children is high on the agenda for Moat. Moat will continue to raise awareness of safeguarding and will ensure that staff are trained and knowledgeable so that we can effectively assist our customers.
