Moving on ignore

Moat has a Supported and Sheltered Housing strategy that aims to:

'Increase the availability of supported housing for others by moving people out who no longer need the service or the service is no longer appropriate to their needs.'

The ‘moving on’ strategy applies to all our Supported and Sheltered residents

Supported Housing

A minimum 95% of our Supported Housing clients have a support plan which details realistic, achievable and timely objectives towards the goal of moving on to suitable accommodation.

The support services that Moat offer vary in length from 13 weeks to two years; within this support time all our clients are encouraged to register with the local authority to enable them to move on to suitable accommodation.

We also work closely with other housing providers and private landlords to maximise the opportunities to locate appropriate ‘move on’ accommodation to suit individual needs.

Sheltered Housing

Moat accommodate approximately 1,300 sheltered housing residents. The support provided to these residents is goaled to maximise an individual’s independence within the community, maintain their health, assist with economic wellbeing and maintain their tenancy.

As part of tenancy sustainability, our support is targeted to ensure the accommodation is suitable to the resident’s needs and where necessary, work in partnership to seek appropriate accommodation to plan moving on.
