HomeKey

From October 2011, Moat will be launching a new web service to assist residents wishing to transfer to a new home. This service is called HomeKey and works hand in hand with the HomeSwapper scheme.

 

HomeKey is easy to use and allows home seekers to apply, or ‘bid’, for a Moat home. HomeKey offers a range of benefits and features, including: 

 

  • A quick and easy bidding process
  • Resident empowerment
  • Clear property information (including photographs)
  • Information about the area through Google maps
  • The ability to choose and bid on the home you want to live in
  • Information on the outcome of your bid
  • Accessibility – bid online, by phone or by text
  • Automatic alerts about properties you are entitled to bid on
  • No restrictions on bidding – bid on properties in a range of areas.

 

Moat has updated its Lettings Policy, which sets out the priorities when allocating homes. This covers all allocations to general needs homes and housing for older people. You can view Moat's Lettings Policy here.

 

You should continue to register with your local authority and bid for available accommodation. The HomeKey and HomeSwapper facilities are additional options for Moat residents to access suitable accommodation.
