Good neighbour award

Do you know a Moat resident who helps make your neighbourhood a better place to live? Someone who lends a helping hand when needed? A neighbour who really makes a difference where you live? If so, we would like to hear from you!

For the first time ever, Moat would like honour those special people by rewarding them with a ‘Moat good neighbour award’. We are going to present this award to six Moat residents who have demonstrated their commitment to their neighbours and the local community. Winners will receive a prize of £250 that they can either donate to a local charity or a community project. This award is your opportunity to pay tribute to those special Moat residents.

Do you know someone who:

  • supports their neighbours by talking and visiting with them?
  • helps with shopping, collecting items and generally giving a helping hand?
  • encourages other to get involved – and supports them to do so?
  • represents their community during a period of change?
  • goes out of their way to welcome newcomers – making them feel comfortable, showing them where to go to get advice, etc?

It’s easy to nominate someone – just send us a letter or an email telling us why you think the individual deserves to win the award. Send the email to homenews@moat.co.uk or the letter to:
