What is a new home defect?
Although your new home home was fully inspected before you move in, unforseen defects can occur in any property.
Reporting new home defects
New home defects that occur in the property are covered by a one year defects period. This commences from the completion of the property not when you take possession.
Faults include, any that occur due to poor materials, design, workmanship and any electrical and plumbing faults.
It does not cover accidential damage, vandalism ,minor shrinkage or cracking during the drying out period.
You can report a new home defect by the website by completing an on line repairs form. Please ensure you mark your request as a defect repair by stating this on the repair form.
