New pilot aims to prevent evictions 




Moat is piloting a new support service to help ensure people struggling to maintain their tenancies avoid eviction.

The new service will deliver intensive support from a specially created 'Prevention from Eviction' team. Residents will be offered help to understand and meet their tenancy agreement obligations, avoid anti-social behaviour or given other forms of support.

Where necessary, residents will be signposted to other agencies or services and assisted to access them. Over time the intention will be to gradually reduce the levels of support necessary and enable the resident to maintain their tenancy independently.

The trial is taking place in the North Kent corridor and Maldon, Essex, both areas where Moat has a high concentration of homes.
