Moat wins first cross-tenure facilities management contract

One Brighton

Our reputation for high quality property management and our commitment to ‘green’ principles have helped secure a new contract managing the estate services for one of the most exciting new developments in the South East.

One Brighton is being developed by Bioregional Quintain and it will showcase the best in environmental design. Moat will own about 30% of the homes for rent and shared ownership, but will manage services for all of the 172 properties at the development, including the private housing, commercial units and public realm.

The project will have a biomass boiler to provide heat to all properties and a composter for all kitchen waste. There are even sky allotments on the roof. We will employ ‘green caretakers’ to look after the communal areas and to promote sustainable lifestyles.

Caroline Field, Moat’s sustainabililty manager,  says: “Managing the whole site gives us much more control. This is something we would like to do on other schemes as our expertise grows, because it will allow us to provide a better service to all residents.”

We have established Mariner Facilities Management as a company focusing on winning and delivering facilities management contracts. A further cross-tenure contract will provide estate services at Stanhope in Kent and a number of other possibilities are currently under consideration.
