Dating service kicks off green travel plan

Moat staff are being actively encouraged to date each other. But it’s all in the interest of more environmentally sustainable commuting.
Employees at our larger offices are being challenged to find a colleague they can ‘date’ to share lifts to work, with a minimum target of getting together at least once a fortnight. There is a regular prize draw for participants and the offer of a free taxi home should a car sharer become stranded due to unforeseen circumstances.
As well as cutting carbon emissions, sharing a car reduces travel costs, eases parking issues at offices and can even result in new friendships.
Sustainability manager, Caroline Field, says: “This is just the first initiative of what we hope will be many to cut the environmental cost of travelling for work. We have already introduced a number of other green projects to improve the sustainability of what we do. Green travel is simply the next step in a continuing effort to be as environmentally responsible as we can as we go about our day to day work.”
